Transferring Your University Credits to NYUS
NYUS warmly welcomes students who wish to transfer from another university.
To enroll at NYUS, students should follow four simple steps and submit official undergraduate transcripts from their previous institution(s) to the Admissions Office for a transfer credit evaluation.
-
Placement Test Exemption: Transfer students who have completed an English Composition and College Math course at an accredited institution, with a grade of C or higher, may be exempt from placement testing. Please confirm this with your NYUS Admissions Associate.
-
Transfer Credit Requests: Students who have completed coursework at other accredited U.S. post-secondary institutions may apply for transfer credits or advanced placement. Requests must include official transcripts and supporting documentation.
-
International Transfers: Credits earned at recognized institutions abroad may also be considered if they are verifiable, credit-bearing, and equivalent to NYUS coursework.
-
Nationally Recognized Exams & Certifications: NYUS grants academic credit on a case-by-case basis for advanced placement examinations such as CLEP, DANTE, and Excelsior College (Regents). Additionally, students may earn credit for verifiable certifications from nationally recognized organizations such as Microsoft, Cisco, Sun Systems, and others.
