PARENTS & FAMILY
At NYUS, we recognize parents as vital partners in the college journey. Once a student is enrolled, parents and guardians become valued members of our extended NYUS family. We know this is a milestone in your student’s life, and we encourage you to play a supportive—not leading—role.
Guidelines for Parents & Guardians:
Understand that the college selection process is a major step for your student; your support is essential.
Familiarize yourself with admission, financial aid, and academic program requirements at NYUS.
Allow your student to take ownership of the application and enrollment process—avoid using “we” when referring to their application.
Plan a campus visit with your student to learn more about the NYUS experience. Be sure to share any special requests you may have during your visit.
Remember: the ultimate “fit” in college choice lies with the student. Help them choose the path that aligns best with their goals and potential.
Participate in the IMPACT New Student Orientation parent session to better understand the transition.
