NYUS highly values enrolling home-educated (homeschooled) students and welcomes them as an integral part of our diverse academic community. Whether you plan to pursue your degree through traditional in-class learning or prefer the flexibility of online degree completion, you’ll find that NYUS is committed to meeting your unique educational needs.
For a comprehensive overview of high school units that meet the Alabama Board of Regents admission requirements—as well as other recognized standards—please refer to the NYUS Catalog.
Applicants from non-public schools, including private schools, homeschools, and church-related schools, must submit an official transcript showing earned credits and date of graduation.
The transcript must either:
Be issued as an official copy from an affiliated organization (as defined by state law, T.C.A 49-50-801), or
Be accompanied by certification of registration with the superintendent of the local education agency where the student would have otherwise attended.
Students unable to provide an official high school credential may demonstrate eligibility by submitting satisfactory scores on the GED examination.
