Staff Emerita

The title Emerita is a mark of distinction granted to members of the university staff who have dedicated many years of service, leadership, and commitment to the institution. It is an honorary designation that recognizes their invaluable contributions even after retirement.

Staff Emerita are individuals who have held important positions within the university and whose work has left a lasting impact on students, faculty, and the broader academic community. Their dedication, professionalism, and integrity serve as an inspiration for current and future members of the university.

At NYUS, we honor the tradition of acknowledging such individuals by continuing to list them among our community. Although they are no longer serving in an active administrative role, Staff Emerita often remain connected with the university by providing guidance, sharing expertise, and supporting institutional initiatives.

Judith Brooks, Registrar Emerita (2006), is remembered for her exceptional commitment to academic administration and her tireless efforts in ensuring that student records and academic policies were upheld with the highest level of accuracy and fairness. Staff Council
